BIX BEIDERBEKE

Celebrating 100 years since the birth of cornet player Bix Beiderbeke in 1903.

His subtle, beautiful horn tone and unusual musical ideas proved that jazz could be sweet and still be hot.  The music of this shy, introverted youth added a new dimension and depth to early jazz, influencing trumpeters from Rex Stewart to Miles Davis.
